For a heteronuclear two-spin system, where both spins are spin-1/2 (for example, 1H
and 13C), what pulse sequence would you use to achieve the following overall
transformations?

a. Describe the pulse sequence by drawing it (along the lines of the figures in Ch. 7
of Keeler). Be sure to indicate the phase of each pulse.
b. Write down the evolution of the density operator using the ‘arrow notation’
introduced in Eq. (7.10) of Keeler.
(Hint: use a combination of 90° pulses and a ‘spin-echo’ building block similar to
those in Fig. 7.14.)
