of the feeder lines cause the mean width to change.
a. The operator periodically takes random samples of size 4. A recent sample of four yielded a sample mean of 101.4. Construct a 95% confidence interval for the true mean
width.
b. If the operator wants to estimate the true mean width to within + 2 units at 95% confidence, what sample size is required.
Now suppose the molding process has been upgraded so that population mean and the population standard deviation are both unknown. In order to estimate the true population mean, a sample of four were randomly chosen. Their widths are 88,02; 106,8; 98,35 and 111,1.
c. According to these data, what is a point estimate of the population mean width?
d. According to these data, what is a point estimate of the population standard deviation?
e. Estimate the true mean width with a 95% confidence interval.
